Ideas for an 80's Party costume?!
Answers: My wife and I have been invited to an 80's themed birthday party where everybody is supposed to dress up like they're from the 1980s? Amazingly we grew up in the 80s, but I can't think of something we can both dress up like that would look genuine. Anybody have any ideas?
You could be Rio from Jem and the Holograms and your wife could be Jem.
Male - a white suit, sleeves rolled up, colored solid tshirt underneath, cheesy sunglasses.
Female - teased hair, big colored earings, denim mini skirt with leggings underneath, and a solid sweatshirt with the neck cut off so it slides down one shoulder
My husband and I went to an 80's themed birthday party in November.
We went to Goodwill and picked up this hideous striped puffy vest for him, a Strohs baseball cap (with the old ugly push sizers in back), and an ugly, big collared striped shirt.
I wore my hair in a huge, high top side pony tail.
Madonna looks were in then.
Lots of bangle bracelets.
Roll up your jean cuffs.
Sweatsuits were big.
Transformers were also big--retro shirts are available pretty much everywhere.

For you: Wer a round-neck t-shirt under a pale suit, sleeves pushed up, loafers.
For her: bubble overalls w/ a banana clip in her hair, spinnerbait earrings and lots of black rubber bracelets; lacy ankle socks and tennis shoes.
OR
you could both wear jeans and a rock group T-shirt (Styx, Grateful Dead, Rod Stewart, Stones, Whitesnake, KISS, etc.)
