Birthday party foods for a six year old boy.?!

Question: We'll have cake and ice cream of course, but I don't know what else. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make fruit kabobs and I'll probably have chips and pretzels, but I don't know about anything else. Suggestions? Maybe I should just order pizza?

I agree with the pizza idea. The only other suggestion I would make is to use english muffins rather than mess with the dough. Your going to have your hands full enough with kids. Slicing the muffins in half and then "dressing" your pizza is delicious. You won't have to worry about baking the dough - just placing the "dressed" muffins under the brolier until the cheese is bubbly.

I know some kids are all about "the look" of food. If you want to go out on a limb you could try kid friendly sushi. Meaning - slice crust off bread, roll bread flat. spread peanut butter and jelly on one side of bread. roll up tightly, then slice in small slices to mimic sushi. you could use diffent "fillings" as well (ex - fudge sauce/strawberry, strawberry cream cheese/banana, vegetable cream cheese/carrot slice.)

i know you said you already have the cake covered but i have one suggestion for a really cute, easy, and affordable idea that children love. you'll need ice cream cake cones (the flat bottom kind), box of cake mix and the ingredients it calls for, chocolate and or light colored icing, sprinkles (nuts and cherries optional). mix cake mix according to package. pour the mix into the cones 1/2 - 3/4 full. bake 15-20 minutes. while the cupcake cones are cooling divide your light colored icing and create different colors with the food coloring. ice the cones and then top with sprinkles. these are so tasty, and cute!

good luck and have fun!!

Personal pizzas! You could have lots of different ingredients out and then they could make their own pizzas, you'd bake them, while they do something else.

My little brother loves to make his own little pizzas with his friends! You just get store bought doe and make small crusts then let the kids decorate and add any toppings they want and bake it and let them enjoy.

have a weiner roast in the back yard!

don't forget the marshmallows too!

Yeah, I'd say definitely order pizza. If not then hamburgers and hotdogs. Everything else sounds perfect.

Chicken nuggest always great. You can even purchase some that may be in dinasaur shapes, I have. Pigs in a blanket or good also. I know you can buy them pre made. I had some this past December at a b-day part (which also had chicken nuggets. I think they got them from Sams. Little pizzas are a great idea also lilke other people said. Every kid loves cheetos. You know if you can I recommend just going to Sams and walking through the frozen food section. They have a lot of party foods to choose from. To bad I couldn't think of anything healthier. Oh well, it's a party. I do find children love grapes. That's easy.

Well, my son wanted grilled cheese burgers for his 6th birthday. They were a hit! We served those with potato chips and all the rest. Just an idea.
