Need ideas for planning my 7 year old daughters birthday party. The theme is Dance Party. Help!?!

Question: I have 25 kids coming to a local community center in less than two weeks.Ages 4-9 Does anyone have any creative ideas for games, crafts or goodie bags? Just trying to keep everything within a budget.

You could have a couple of local teens help out (maybe cousins or babysitters) they can teach the kids funny dances like the "Chicken Dance" and "The Worm" then you can have a "dance off". You could set up a video camera and use a couple of Laptop computers to "broadcast" the party - kids love to watch themselves. For goodies you could burn a CD of your child's favorite music or even get those "Kids Bop" Cd's at Wal-Mart or you can have the kids decorate t-shirts to take home as mementos. Be sure to have someone DJ the party (you or some other adult) and really encourage the kids to dance and have fun. Use Balloons and Streamers to decorate - serve punch, fruit and veggies with dips then of course the cake and ice cream. Some community centers will even plan the party for you and it is much cheaper than you think. (usually under $200 for staff, games and prizes). Good Luck!

Big screen TV - watch High School Musical. Have a karaoke machine and have a contest. Hire a high school girl from dance team or cheer squad to teach a dance. Play some active games - running relays, jump rope, hula hoop. Serve cupcakes - cheap. Order pizza if you can afford. Download some of your daughter's favorite songs to a CD. Burn copies for everybody - you can print custom cd label with the name of the birthday girl, date, etc.

Take a look at the Oriental Trading Co. site for ideas.

I'd suggest that you turn the party them into "Diva Dance Party" and get little girl feather boas and tiaras etc. Buy some disposable cameras & let them them take pictures of themselves.
