I agree. It's very rude. Whoever does the inviting has the honor to do the paying.

Erm.. thats a bit... different. Normally the person who throws the party pays for the food. But maybe she's having some financial difficulties and that is why she cannot pay for the food. You should help her out slightly. If the sum of money gets too high for you to pay then kindly let her know :)

FRIEND!!!! Some people just don't have a clue. So what you are saying she wants you to help pay for the party she is giving and I suppose you must bring a gift too. I think i'm to sick to go.

maybe she wants to make her fiance surprise for his birthday and she can't afford one. so she have to asks some friends to join in her expenses. likewise, if you make a share for the food then you don't have to give gifts to the celebrant. You make a birthday party for him that's already a gift!

That's extremely rude of her to straight out ask you for money. She is basically saying "take me out to eat because it's my birthday"...you wouldn't be OK with that, would you?

sounds to me like u guys are friends with her fiance so shes assuming u guys are helping throw the party???

if it is getotgether then she can ask but as it her birthday party she should not ask it, but if you are meeting all your friend then go thinking as get to gether.

She probably expected you to bring something because he is your boyfriend. I won't make it a big fuss. Just go to ShopRite and buy a platter of sandwitches... It's like $25.
