Romantic Springtime Picnic for Girlfriend?!

Question: Im planning a romantic picnic for me and my girlfriend. I just need a couple of ideas. What foods are romantic? What is a good conversation that we can have while eating? Good dessert foods? Thanks

Finger foods work best for something like this.
Cheese cubes or sticks with fruits
Small sandwiches (no mayo!)
Get something to dip the fruit in, either cool whip or a fruit dip.
All girls love chocolate but maybe you can wrap it up nicely in a cloth napkin instead of its regular package?

Aww how sweet. You want to pick foods that will hold up well to sitting and temperature changes. I would go with things you can eat with your fingers- perhaps start w/ a fruit "salad": strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pineapple chunks, mint (chiffonade). Keep the berries whole and don't add sugar as that breaks the fruit down and leads to one wanting to use a fork to eat it.

Tomato, basil, mozzerella either in salad form w/ a balsamic vineagrette or on toasted bread

Dessert...something w/ chocolate and don't forget the wine. Italian Prosecco is to die for.

Anything you can eat with your hands! I would do a nice meat/cheese platter with sliced baguette and champagne, followed by some chocolate dipped strawberries.

Little sandwiches cut in triangles or cheese and crackers are good main dishes, you can serve it with a pasta salad, strawberries, or other fruits. Some chips and pop or wine if you like and for dessert, some chocolate chip cookies or other cookies.

My favorite picnic was when I went to visit friends in Toronto, the guy who invited us threw us the keys to his vintage Mercedes convertible and told us to go have fun. He had a white box with little tea sandwiches, chips, 2 cans of pop and Mars bars in it all tied up in string. It was the best and I'll never forget it :)

What a cute idea, I am planning something similar for my husband for Easter Sunday. We'll be having pate and crusty bread, some good quality sliced meat from the deli and mozzarella, tomato and basil salad dressed with olive oil and balsamic. You can get really good quality disposable cutlery (not crappy plastic stuff) and take some picnic champagne glasses along with you (as well as the champagne of course!)
