I have a great pesto to make but nothing to serve it on like pita bread and can't get out in time...substitute!
Answers: Pesto is great with fresh veggie sticks, crackers, etc. If you have a loaf of sandwich bread on hand, brush the slices with a little olive oil and season with garlic powder, italian seasoning, etc and toast under the broiler until light golden brown...slice into mini triangles and serve with the pesto. I have also had pesto on fried potato rounds and it was delicious! Good luck!
crackers? Do you have a box of Bisquick? You could make some bread or biscuits with it ...... You can toss it with some olive oil on pasta .... You could put some on top of breaded chicken, top that with some cheese and oven bake it
you can do spaghetti noodlez.
make toast!
If you honestly have nobody that can get the pita bread for you, I would look in my cupboards and use anything from crackers, cheese, celery, tortilla chips, baked fish cut in small pieces, etc. I have even cut corn or flour tortillas in quarters and sprayed them with spam before baking them to crisp them up. And, I used the crisp quarters to serve dips and spread on. Good Luck. I am sure everything will be fine and tasty.
