I am having a cookout... How many pounds of meat should I buy per person?!

Question: There will be about 15 people . and there will be sausage and hot dogs as well. I am making fajitas but not for tacos, just thin cuts of meat. how many pounds of meat would be necessary..? I don't want too much, and of course do not want to get too little. Please help! Thanks!

you'll need about 1 pound per person. Some will eat less than that, some will eat more. In all my days of Qing that seems to work out best.

Well, you should get a bunch. Because if the other fajitas get burned or soemthing... your cookout is toast.

It's not really a simple answer. There are a lot of factors to consider, so I recommend you visit the link I've included, read the article and you'll get a good estimate of what to do. Best of luck.

Usually 1/4 pound is one serving. So however many servings you think will get eaten. If you also have sausage and hot dogs I'd get about 3-4 pounds of beef.

That's hard to estimate ..... a 15-yr-old boy is going to eat at least TWICE what Grandma eats! 1 hot dog should be enough for Grandma, but that teenage boy might eat 6! A good estimate though is about 1 lb. (total, of all the meats) per person.....

3 to 4kilos

Just don't exceed 10 pounds total. People will love the taco thingy and they will need natcho chips to go along with them.

So how many hot dogs do you have say 10 and you have how many sausages say 10 and you can make how many natchos or tacos say 10/ well then that is two for each person besides you may have a side salad like jello or a dessert like cake.............do not go overboard these people are not from a forgin country they eat every day.... and being in america may stop for a mile shake on the way home...lol

It really depends, I would get 1 pound per person, but someone may eat more and someone may eat less than that.

depends on how many guests your planning to have, usually 50lbs , then u add in the sides that makes the complete meal.
