Baby shower with Princess theme. Ideas?!

Question: I am throwing my sister a baby shower. She is having a girl so we're having it as a princess theme. I am getting Tirara's for all the guest's to wear, and we're making wands out of chocolate covered pretzles. I would like any and all ideas that you all would have as to what games, decorations,or refreshments should be served at our function. Thank you in advance for any and all ideas.

Set a table a princess would be proud of! A delicate princess deserves delicate and luxurious foods. Set out pink or raspberry lemonade in a plastic champagne glass lined with pink sugar. Freeze raspberries in an ice tray with a little of the lemonade to add a special touch.

Lay out an assortment of delicate cookies, divinity, chocolate covered strawberries and eclairs. Offer tiny delicate sandwiches and a light salad.

For dessert, crumble a cookie or cake at bottom of a glass. Top with pudding and whipped topping.

Finish the delicate look off by using a lace tablecloth

I think that the chocolate covered pretzels are a great idea! How about building a castle out of newborn disposable diaper packs? (my favorite is Pampers, & Luvs is the best cheap brand) You could wrap them in different colors and use them like bricks. And the gift is literally worth its weight in gold!

Royal decorations are best with the base color being purple to really bring out the royal theme. Then, you can either make up your own princess type decorations or go with the Disney Princess theme, which has all of the famous princesses from all of the movies. If you decide to go with a generic princess theme then you can buy plates and napkins that say princess and simply decorate with purple balloons, streamers, and of course a princess cake. If you choose the Disney Princess option then you can buy plates, napkins and streamers that are already imprinted with the Princesses.................................

Baby shower invitations:
Make castle-shaped invitations. Templates can be found online, or purchase invites at your local party supply store. Once you choose your invitation, roll it up in a scroll, tie it with ribbon and send it off to guests.

Decorations:
Recreate a castle scene at your party. Try "wallpapering" a brick or stone design on your wall with bricks made from art paper. If you're not the artistic type, pick up castle-themed decorations at your local party supply store.

Games and prizes:
Buy a dragon-shaped pinata at a party store. Fill it with gold and silver foiled chocolates and candies, and have your guests "slay" the dragon with a stick.

The menu:
A princess is worthy of only the best foods!

Sparkling grape juice
Grapes and other fruits
Assortment of hearty breads
Deli meats and cheeses

For dessert, make special princess magic wands. Dip pretzel rods in white almond bark, and sprinkle with your choice of cake sprinkles.

Party favors:
Pamper your guests with feminine favors such as necklaces, bracelets or body lotion.

maby you could put up some posters of Disney [princesses or any princess or make space so you could have a tiny little ball for the adult with figure sandwiches.

try a game like pin the tail on the donkey, but change it to kiss the frog, whom ever is closest to his froggy lips wins a prince, the prize can be one of those hunky guy birthday cards but cut out like a paper doll. there's tons of princess stuff out there, wal mart and target are good for paper goods and trinkets, also look in the wedding isle for sparkly things and definitely get her a onsie and a bib that says princess. you and your guests can make mom to be a t-shirt for after baby that says "queen Bee" have guests glue on sparkles on the words and if you can draw or download a pic of a bee wearing a crown. try hobby lobby, also there's a lot of princess stuff in pet gear.the dollar stores have cheap mirrors you can decorate for all your guests, or you could glue rhinestones to silver spoons.make sure you have tea in fancy cups. and above all have a wonderful time.

I threw a princess themed baby shower for a friend of mine 8 months ago. The massive centerpiece was a 5 tiered diaper cake with a tiara on top and tons of pink flowers. I also found great favors on shindigz.com. I bought tiny glass slippers and filled them with pink candies!!! For the guests tables centerpieces I used small satin pillows with tiaras on top and one single pink rose. When I made place cards for the grandma's I wrote "her royal spoiler" Grandma Jane etc. everyone who needed to be seated close had a royal title or duty. Everyone said it was the funnest baby shower they had ever been to. Use your imagination! I also had mirror mirror on the wall decor. A computer printed image of royal mirror frames set over foil. It was great!!!! For the invitations we said "Please help us welcome Sandy and Matt's 'Lil Princess In Waiting'" I found an image of a baby in princess dress on yahoo pictures and printed it on to the invites.

i would suggest you have some fresh cream cakes and tea because thats whati imagine a princess eating and drinking?

as for decoration i would hang up clear fairy lights so that when the night draws in you can switch these lights on for a fairy like feeling which is also relaxing or if you have'nt got fairy lights light some candles everywhere or do both which would be even better?

you could also add some pink feather boa's for decoration to pin round a table with the tea and cakes on?

you could all watch a film like the princess diaries on the floor with cushions and fleeces and blankets?

have a nice baby shower!
