A Chili would be great served with tortilas, cook the chili in advance and keep it warm on the hob while you run the men down, an ideal evening, can I come?

Garlic bread with Mayonnaise & Ketchup.

Something like a few soups would be nice. Soup can be very simple to make and doesn't take a lot of fuss at the end. Then you just need to warm up bread.

this recepie is really nice u can make for starter prawn and chilli kebabs, and then chicken breasts cut in half sideways to make a pocket and then put pesto and mozzerella inside, xclose it and then wrap parma ham around it its delicious
also serve that with rice and vegetables etc its simple but yummy

Cook Pasta!!!

O order stuff frm Mc D!

Raspberry Chicken

Saute 2 shallots in butter, add a 1/4 c. raspberry vinegar and reduce a bit - cool - set aside...

Saute chicken breasts...until almost done, toss on above ....cook 5-10 minutes...add fresh raspberries swoosh around the pan and carefully plate separately with almost whole but hot raspberries on top of each breast.

Serve with fresh steamed ASPARAGUS (squeeze of lemon S&P) and a nice rice PILAF (saffron if you can afford it- a tad of turmeric if you are on a budget...)

For the other stuff BUY some small rolls, a french butter, some cool tiny dessert...as well as any appetizer shouldn't be work or gargantuan ...a few tidbits spiced nuts keep it simple and have fun not work.

make a big pan of chilli or curry, you can make in in advance then just heat it up when they get there

I would do a wine party with appetizers such as cheeses and fruits, bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms or mini pizzas, veggies, olives etc.

pasta or chili is easy! How about a take away?

Baked Ziti, a great salade & garlic bread. One casserole dish for the baked ziti & you can spend time w/ your friends! Bon Appetite!

Enchiladas

make yourself and your friends a apricot upside down cake which is very simple to make
here is what you do
5oz Self Raising flour
2 eggs
2oz castor sugar
4oz maragarine 1 tin of apricots
mix your margarine with the sugar add your eggs and flour and fruit juice until it looks like batter put your apricots at the bottom of the baking tin pour the mixture over the apricots and cook when its cooked turn it upside down so the apricots are up the top you also can use pineapples . for there dinner cook a vegetable curry with pasta instead of rice,

Have everyone bring an appetizer to share, or a dessert. Then all you need to do is buy some small rolls or croissants, and arrange meats, cheeses, and toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, peppers, etc.) on a pretty plate. Guests can help themselves to sandwiches that are small and pretty, and you won't have to do a thing! The appetizers will add to the meal, so you can just focus on your friends.

Id say a nice pasta salad with tomatoes and cucumber and some nice chicken kabobs.

Take-out. You could choose Italian, Chinese or my personal favorite, Sushi.

cant go wrong with pasta. maybe linguini alfredo with broccoli add chicken if you feel like making it. or penne a la vodka. or tortellini, which is my fave!

Do a pasta bar, Rachel Ray has a really good recipe for one that is really quick and easy http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/...

pasta, with meat sauce, and either cheese bread or garlic bread!! =]

i would make a curry or a pasta dish or if you cant decide i would just order a takeaway.
