What's on your Easter meal menu?!
Answers: I can't believe Easter's only a week away! For those of who who do an Easter brunch or dinner, what's on your menu this year?
This year we decided to do something different. We usually have ham, baked beans, potatoes, the usual etc. But we have had a really looonnggg winter with lots of snow and cold so we decided to get the grill out (my son's idea!). We will be grilling Italian sausages along with grilled peppers and onions, hamburgers, baked macaroni and cheese, a nice salad and some kind of dessert (haven't figured that out yet!!). But we needed something to remind us that spring is just around the corner!! (Now that the grill is unburied from all the snow on the deck)
Leg of lamb with all the trimmings. I have never tried making it, so this is going to be quite a challenge.
were having a fried turkey..prob wit rice n gravy and deviled eggs
Well, I'm a vegetarian, so no lamb for us. Basically, food we like and a lot of chocolate!
Easter Green Cake (torta pasqualina)

Pesto Lasagne
Roasted Rabbit (tipical Ligurian Dish )
Potatoes
Easter Dove as dessert

I'll let know when I figure it out. I'm leaning towards a ham, but if no one will make a choice one way or another, I'm going out for veal.
You can celebrate Easter with many different menu items, from the traditional to the unusual. Whatever you and your family choose to prepare for your Easter celebration, it really is nice to spend the day enjoying each others’ company. Here are a few food ideas to get you started:
While there are many traditions in each family, there are usually a few traditional menus that you’ll find. Foods like eggs, ham and chocolate are universally popular however. Ham with potato salad, deviled eggs, watermelon, and chocolate bunnies for dessert is a simple yet delicious menu.
Deviled eggs are created by hard- boiling the egg, peeling them, cutting them in half, and then removing the yolk. The yolk is then placed in a bowl to be mashed with the addition of mayonnaise, dry mustard, salt, pepper, and a touch of paprika. Then you place the mixture back in the egg.
You will need potatoes, mayonnaise, onions, salt and pepper to create potato salad. Generally you chunk up the potatoes and cook them until they are just about to become mushy. Then you add the potatoes to the other ingredients. The amount of the other ingredients will depend on the amount of potatoes you have, as well as personal taste. Finely chopped gherkins or capers also make a delicious addition to any potato salad.
There are many different recipes you can find for potato salad, deviled eggs, and other items you may find on your menu. The point behind the menu is creating something you can share with friends and family to make the day complete. Also, you can prepare as much of the food ahead of time as possible, leaving you more time to enjoy the occasion with your loved ones.
we go to brunch at my grandma and grandpas house. then later our other grandparents come for dinner.
usually for brunch since my grandparents are old, they go to their local bakery and get these really good bagels and donuts. (not dunkin donuts!!)
