have a backyard cook out with hot dogs, chicken, burgers, etc or if ur not going to be in the cooking mood just go to publix and get some cold cuts as far as decorations i would go towards ur personality and take it from there
I would go simple, either a cook-out or lots of finger type foods.
Taco Bake - this is easy & something different
We have always served either a big roaster full of loose meats (ground seasoned burger mixed with a bit of ketchups, yellow mustard, brown sugar, horseradish, Worchestier sauce) people could just help themselves to a bun and make their own.
OR
Shredded BBQ pork (put shoulder or butt pork roast in a roaster, season with salt, pepper and brown sugar, after a couple of hours pour Coke on them) when they are done, take out and cut them up, put in a food processor and shred, mix the shredded meat with your favorite BBQ sauce, we love Sweet Baby Rays, drain the juiced from the roaster, put the meat back in) and same thing, serve with buns and pickles.
We also do potato salad, pasta salad, a veggie tray and dip, a fruit tray, chips and dip, chips and salsa.
We have also, in addition to either taverns or pulled pork, served a big ole ham that our guest could slice meat off and eat with or without a bun.
