Sweet 16 dinner party menu?!
Answers: I am having a dinner party at night in my backyard patio (4 girls will be there total) it's going to be formal, we already have the decor' planned, the silverware, the china, and wine glasses, but I wanna know what would be good for the menu? like appitizers and the meal. I will print the menu for it and the dessert is obviously cake and the drinks are apple cider, but I have no clue what to do for the meal and appitizers lol. so could u help me? and yes i looked all over google and they aren't specific enough -.-
Think about a fancy restaurant in your town - a seafood place, Italian, French, steakhouse - whatever you really like. Take a look at their menus, or look online, if available to see what sounds good.
You will want to start with an appetizer or salad of some kind, or possibly even a soup. Follow it with your entree, then your cake for dessert.
Appetizer/Salad examples:
- Tossed Green Salad (add cranberries, bleu or feta cheese, pecans, etc...) with a nice vinaigrette dressing
- Caesar salad (with or without shrimp)
- Shrimp Cocktail (can be very fancy)
Soup Examples:
- Lobster Bisque
- Clam Chowder
- French Onion
Entrees
- Pheasant, Duck or Lamb would be very nice, but might not be to your taste
- Filet Mignon or Surf and Turf (Steak with lobster, scallops or shrimp)
- Grilled or Roasted Salmon or Sea Bass
- Serve with roasted potatoes and vegetables
Most of these restaurants will offer take out service, so you can probably even just order ahead for your 5 meals and the food will already be prepared - you will only have to replate it and serve. Make sure to call a couple days in advance, though, if you are going to have the menus printed up. That way you can make sure that you get all the seasonal vegetables.
When printing the menus, take a look at some fancy restaurant menus and try to duplicate the look and print on a nice fancy stock - linen cardstock or a glossy cardstock - if your printer can handle that - would be best.
Hope this gives you some good ideas. Sounds like a great evening - have fun and happy birthday.
you could have spinach swiss cheese quiche for an appitizer
then french onion soup with hard rolls for 1st course
