Does your stainless steel grill rust?!

Question: I am contemplating buying a stainless steel grill (outdoor) and thought I'd ask if anyone had rust issues. I will purchase a cover for it and everything, but just wondering even when covered do they rust quickly? It may not be worth the extra money to me if it is just going to look crappy in a year. Thanks!

I have left mine out UNCOVERED for 3 years with NO rust on the stainless steel pieces... (north carolina - cold, hot, wet, dry... seasons....)
I will say this though.. most stainless grills come with steel NON-Stainless screws... if you get a grill, change the screws out if they are not also stainless... they will rust and leave streaks down the grill.
Also, I honestly believe that covers (here go all the thumbs downs....) can be bad... They hold moisture in - from condensation mostly, and will deteriorate things quicker. An uncovered grill is wet LESS of the time.
Leaving a stainless grill uncovered is fine... UNLESS it has plastic or wood components that will get sun bleached/damaged...

ps. stainless IS worth the extra money... and the more you pay (i hate saying that :) the more you get... stay away from all the useless dohickeys.. get only the features you know you need so what you do spend goes to the quality of those features... the more features, the more sh1t to go wrong. Stainless burners are nice too... that way you don't have to replace them every other year...

There are different grades (qualities) of stainless steel and it can rust and it's not maintenance free. Any metal that's subjected to moisture and great heat is prone to rusting.

Mine does, it was made in China

Quality stainless steel grills and other things don't rust.

no buddy

meaning of stainless = no stain (no rust)
then how can you say that stainless steel get rust.
only defected or low quality steel get rust.
