go simple but sweet.first birthdays they wont remember but they are cute.i made a little tiny cake for my boys on their first and then had another cake that was for everyone else.taking pics of the kids eating their own b-day cake is awesome and funny.that's something you can show your kids later in life.when it comes to them opening present they don't ever seem to get what to do at 1.so what ever you do friend and family are great to have at the b-day party and always take lots of pictures.oh cute outfits are nice to but not while eating their birthday cake very messy very messy lol

Have LOTS of balloons..have a pool party or something!
For the birthday girl..get her own cupcake..[she will feel very special!]
email me if you use these ideas!

firstly the bday party should for the girl n not for frens n family!!!
give her a surprise party~~~~!!!!
n do whatever she likes!!!!!!!!!!!

the best kinda party for a toddler is a cartoon themed party. my baby sister had hers just last month and her theme was winnie the pooh. make sure there is something special for the b'day kid like his own pic in the cake or return gifts like milk mugs with a special message ..........

i'd buy her something personalised
like a teddybear or something- with her name on
or with 'my first birthday'
then she'll have like something to keep.
also, most babies love balloons, so get lots of them :)

A 1st birthday is very special- but limit the amount of 1 year old guests because when there are lots of them they can get out of control (Personal experience!) Invite the parents as well, just so they can also have fun watching the kids and you won't be responsible for all the guests. A park is a nice idea because it can get out the energy and the kids can have loads of fun at playgrounds. Jumping castles and inflatable slides are a bit old, so avoid those and save them for a 3-4 year old party. Cakes can get messy and it's better with seperate treats- like cupcakes. Keep he party short but fun- such as 3 hours or a bit more. One party I had was painting miniture flower pots but I think that might be slightly old for one- year olds.

I went to my neices first birthday- she had two of her friends there and the rest were adults. They got to play with finger puppets and did finger painting so that might be a good idea because even with two friends she had a great time. Well, I hope it helps!

Cup cakes are the way to go, for the kids and for the adults a small 8 in cake, make it simple. When we have family we always have pot luck so not to make it to expensive of any one and this way you don't go crazy making all those extra dishes.

I'm doing a cupcake theme for my neice who is turning 7 and nephew who is turning 1. They are sharing birthdays together.

I will be getting a cupcake pinata.

I ordered these cupcake favor to fill it with goodies from orientaltrading.com

Will be making cupcakes and put them in an individual cupcake box for the second favor

For the cake, it will be a huge cupcake (Wilton)

and still searching for more ideas.............
