Hookah's not what you'd expect. Aside from the bar aspect which can have high rates, like $25 per session, the experience itself is mesmerizing. A single load can last 45 minutes to an hour. It's a beautiful thing. It's not anything like a drug, in case you're wondering. It's also nothing like smoking cigarettes. It's closest probably to smoking a cigar but with none of the harshness of that experience. It is customary to cap your puller so that others get a stronger pull when you're not pulling yourself. I am lucky enough to have had a friend who invested in a hookah, and shared with me many times. It's all about flavor and taste, and is actually done by pulling the heat of a lit charcoal disk through a heavily flavored sheesha mixture. It's wonderful.

My pleasure - it's a great experience, and I hope you have a great time. Report It

  • Nope. Sorry.

    no

just go across the hall to neighbor's apt. and bang him or her and forget about the bar

Yes; I enjoy it; and it's nowhere to what most people think of it...it's great & the flavors are wonderful

I went to a restaurant, right off a street downtown were you could pay $5 and pick a flavor to smoke the hookah. We were literally setting on patio furniture on the side walk while people drove by smoking giant hookah. Very interesting feeling I don't know if I could do it again.

Yes I've been to many, but after all that I would just invest in my own. A cheap, but decent hookah is worth around 50-60$ on southsmoke.com. How much would you pay to go to many hookah bars? 12-25$ a session? Why not just invest? But if you just want to try it out for yourself I definitely recommend it. From the many bars that I've been to, it was an interesting atmosphere. A lot of music, dark scenery, and even people smoking cigarettes versus hookah. Like most bars, food may also be on the menu. I never really liked the food, nor did I approve of the quality of most of the environments I've been to (ie cleanliness) , but overall it's a unique experience. It really depends on the place I guess. I personally don't smoke cigarettes, but I do enjoy smoking hookah. Even my mom likes it. lol :)
