10 year anniversary party - looking for inexpensive, fun ideas for a small group of people?!
Also, I have thought about trying to do a combo party with my sister (she got married a few months after me, so we could split the difference). Has anyone done something like that? We obviously have many of the same family members, but different groups of friends, which could make for a fun time for the younger folks.
Here are some ideas I have brainstormed:
80s (especially good if combined with my sister - she loves the era)!
Camping/Outdoors - snacks, smores, fire in the backyard BBQ type affair
Now & Then (with embarassing pictures of the two of us from the time of our marriage and what we're like now)
A version of Now & Then that also combos with an 80s theme...so it includes high school photos/etc. from 10 yrs. BEFORE we were married.
Answers: My 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up, and I have been thinking about having a party to commemorate/celebrate. I am specifically looking for inexpensive ideas that cut costs but still provide for a fun time.

I think an 80's idea would be great! Either hire a DJ or burn some CD's of all your favorite music (Madonna, Bon Jovi, etc) to make is festive. Also, maybe a slide show of your Now and Then pics set to music (prom theam song, favorite song from then, 1st dance at your wedding, etc) to spice it up some.
Are you doing a Pot Luck party or catering it? You can try to re-create one of your wedding cakes or serve food from your "first date" place (Italian, etc)
Good food and good music always makes for a good party - don't forget the alcohol too! Just be sure everyone is safe! It's always fun to invite people from different groups - allows people to mingle and meet new people - who knows, maybe in a few years you'll be attending the wedding of people who met at your party! : )
