Would you go to this party?!

Question: Hello fabulous friends! ...we declare it Sushi Time... We'll have all the fixings, side dishes, and some appropriate dessert; all you need to bring is yourself, $15 to cover costs, and your own beverages. (Unless you just want water. We'll have plenty of water. And some green tea. And cheap sake.) SOs, friends... are all invited, just be sure to let us know in your RSVP... Don't show up earlier than 4 unless you clear it with me. Please call if you'll be later than 7 so we can set some aside for you!... We need your RSVP by midnight April Z... Really. Seriously. If you haven't RSVP'd and show up, there may not be fish for you... parking will Take a Bit of Time, and you should not take advantage of the lot across the street if you like your car in an untowed state. You *must* RSVP by replying to this email to be included. Please bring exact change and an empty stomach. And your party hat (extra hats available on site). :)

nope, I'd rather go out to eat at a resturant.

Wow. No I wouldn't. Not with all the restrictions in that email. That invite comes across really unfriendly. Like "hey we're having a party and it will be a ton of work and you have to be good, but............"
Just my opinion.

No not if I have to pay to party and BYOB

Sounds like a judge giving out a jail sentence.
I'll pass on this party

Yea... not so good. I like the sushi idea, but relax a little on the RSVP verbage, and the parking stuff. People will figure it out. Just say RSVP, BYOB, $15 cover, and the hours you plan on serving food. If they can't get there in time, they will not get there for the food, and don't charge for a cover unless they eat.

Also, you may want to consider just paying for it, if you can, or ask your closest friends if they want to help pay for the food. If you are a restaurant, it may be appropriate to charge. Or you could turn it into some kind of charity fund raiser.

It's only money.

Good Luck

Umm nup id definately chuck the invite away. It sounds like your trying to scare your friends away. Why are you making them pay for dinner and the sake if theyre your friends and youre the one inviting them to your party? I know parties can be quite expensive but I bet your friends would rather go to a free backyard bbq with cheap beer rather than shell out cash for sushi and what sounds like a formal party. If youre going to a restaurant or getting it catered its fine to ask for remuneration. I think the invite needs to be reworded so it sounds like a party and not a general invite a restaurant would send out to get new customers. Sorry good luck.

I agree it's a little rough. Tell the hours the food and sodas (!) will be served. I think it would hard not to get the first people to eat all the food. Maybe even dinner will be served at 6. A day before the party send out an email reminding them not to park in the lot across from you due to towing.

When are they going to pay you?

If I like sushi and I like the hosts, why not?
It sounds like the host is just stressed out and wants it to be perfect. It wouldn't bother me.

And yeah you have to pay, but maybe the host just can't afford paying for food for that many people.

NO WAY! Not with all those restrictions, and all those tough requirements. I would rather go eat my mom's friends's husbands restauraunt. I bet your food will be horrible as well. I mean, I would go to the Miyabi, or Texas Road House, or the Mash House, or other good restaurants. Not your party. It sounds like so really rough.
