Indiana Jones Birthday party ideas?!

Question: My 6 year old, turning 7, wants an Indiana Jones themed birthday party. I can come up with a few ideas...but, MAN! This is a toughie. They don't make the plates and decorations for this at all. Everything will be made...can anyone out there come up with some super ideas?
1) an obstacle course? ideas?
2) food? NO idea...
3) dressing up? Should I have the kids where browns and greens?
4) games? any ideas are great -

Thanks to everyone!!!

Thanks to everyone!!!

1. Play the Indiana Jones theme song.
2. Watch one of the movies (but aren't they a bit gory and/or scary for 6 / 7 year olds?)
3. Have rubber snakes (Jones hates snakes).
4. Have a treasure hunt (Jones is always chasing some artifact).
5. You could have them each choose a cup to see who wins a prize (like in the Last Crusade).
6. Find a picture of Indy Jones, scan it on the computer, and make name tags.
7. Have them try to eat some weird food -- call it "monkey brains or something silly (like in The Temple of Doom)

i don't like him

Fill a small pool thing with chocolate or something, and it shall be the pit of death.

Take them out to the theater for the new movie coming out and buy them all popcorn, cheap easy, no clean up!!!

for the food, you could do it like Temple of Doom. look up Halloween recipes that look gross (gummy worms, fake eyeballs, etc).

a treasure hunt would be really cool, especially if you have a good sized back yard. otherwise, maybe you could get your neighbors to help out and let you plant stuff in their yards??

hmm... i'm out of ideas. you're right, that is a tough one. well, good luck!

sweet hats (fedora), hot dogs and ice cream,
buy your kid a bull whip and let him have his own way with his freinds. get his little freinds plastic scimitars from Kmart as a little loot bag thing. then tell em have fun little kids dont need lots of planning.
games is ofcourse setting the backyards up with junk to hide behind and pretend shoot your freinds i guess you'll need noisy toy guns aswell.
you have me planning my own now.

wow!! thats super tough ...for games maybe a scavenger hunt...with maps....lets see....food maybe the money brains out of jello! lol...

HI! i LOVE indiana jones! a new movie is comin out. sorry i have no good ideas though. good luck!

(poison) darts game? Just darts but with a special name.

you could make some kind of food modeled after the Sankara Stones (from Temple of Doom). They're like jelly beans pretty much, but maybe a foot in length. Or alternatively, do jelly beans.

Uh, other than that, I'm stumped.

You need to dress up with some face paint and put on a skull / bone hat and a robe:

Line up the kids and get one of them involved in this trick...

Put a kid up against the wall and start screaming "Kali-mah! Kali-mah!"

After this you'll somehow need to manage pulling a bloody chicken breast out of one of the kids' shirt.

Good Luck!

an obstacle course yes

and have soda in little mini cups shaped like grails (the holy grail movie)

Have kids dress up like explorers

games lets see hmmm a ring toss maybe? (simulating IJ whip action)

I didn't watch the movie but I went on the ride, So probably for food you can make Meat bolders and Spaghetti because of the bolder that followed him after he took the treasure. The cake can have a photo of Indiana Jones on it which I think some Bakeries can print on. In the gift bags, you could put fake gold and treasures in it. They can dress up in little adventurer outfits. I hope the party goes well.
