Actually, I would have that be the theme.
Start with having everyone come in costume, but only costumes that begin with the letter P, princesses, pirates, penguins, maybe a parent or a parrot. You can play music, but only songs with titles that begin with P, such as Purple People Eater, have everyone dance a polka. Serve P food, like pizza, pasta, maybe Pepsi and Dr. Pepper to drink. Have your guests decorate paper purses, which you will later have your mom or someone fill as party bags. Play games that start with P, for example Paper clips and Rice, maybe have a P word scavenger hunt, watch a movie that starts with the letter P. At the end of the party, hand out everyone's paper bag purses (make sure they put their names on them) filled with P items, such as pencils, maybe a pack of peanuts (make sure no one is allergic first!!!!) pretzels, be creative.

Oh and if you have a cake, make it a white cake, and use food coloring to dye the icing and cake batter purple or pink.
