You say that your from the south, do you have a specialty that you make, such as chili, bk beans, potato salad, or even a dessert like sweet potato pie, etc. If you do then bring that as it will show that you thought about it and that you care about your co-workers to share something you make special.

a cassorole or brownies or cookies or chicken? or cornbread, chillie, fruit

Chili

It's a potluck and you can bring anything you chose to make and it also depends what everyone's preference are in your office. From my experience, we normally have sign up sheet so we have an idea what everyone is bringing to avoid duplication. You want varieties 'ya know ;) Enjoy!

crawfish, chili, meat pie, waffles, and fried anything.

You could order Moon Pies to bring! I know they are a Southern Favorite...if you don't want to cook/make something? (I know you can order them online at www.hometownfavorites.com - I order hard to find things from them all the time & they are great! No affiliation, other than happy customer. They also sell a great can thing to make homemade Sweet Potato Pie! That would be great too!!! I make them all the time fo my Mom that is in an assisted living place & all the residents love it!)

Other than that...I'm coming up blank!

Good luck & I'm sure what ever you bring, it will be great!

Spaghetti salad is usually a winner -

or be the person who manages to bring the plates, cups, bowls and flatware- the things we always seem to forget -

Or even bring some extra serving spoons - cause we all manage to forget those as well...

spaghetti salad is easy btw -
cook spaghetti noodles
add itialian dressing to taste
sprinkle with salad supreme seasoning and add some red onion ringlets and you are done!

Let's see here's a few Southern food items:

-Sweet potato or Pecan pie

-Baked sweet potatoes
(Take 6 large sweet potatoes, peel & slice. Butter the bottom of a large baking dish, make layers of sweet potatoes, chopped pecans, melted butter and brown sugar . Cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes until the sweet potatoes are very soft.)

-A slow baked pork roast/Southern style pulled pork (the name of the cut is "picnic shoulder"). Here's a link:

-Cornbread: regular & gourmet (w/ creamed corn, cheddar cheese & jalapenos) bring along some sweet butter & honey

-Fried chicken (You can never go wrong with this one...even if you buy it premade)

-A pot of collard greens and ham hocks (or ham slices)

FRUIT AMBROSIA

2 c. whipping cream
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 large can mandarin oranges, drained
1-2 cans fruit cocktail, drained
3-4 handfuls miniature marshmellows
1-2 c. flaked coconut (optional)
Beat cream, sugar & extracts until very stiff peaks. Gently fold in fruit & marshmellows until completely mixed......

BANANA Pudding with Vanilla Wafers (Just make some packaged pudding, and put pieces of the wafers into the pudding, but garnish with whole vanilla wafers)

I always bring something easy, brownies or rice krispy treats are always a hit.
