Looking for help with ideas for "Grand Opening" celebration for Deli and Catering?!

Question: I will be taking over a deli and catering company with a new company name. Can anyone help me with creative, fun ideas for a grand opening celebration? I would really appreciate any and all ideas anyone out there may have. Thanks!!!

Invite your friends and supporters to a small celebration. Ask them their ideas of folks that might use your services. Then target your marketing to potential vendor/ referrals customers with some nice baskets. I like to Target vendors that usually don't get thank yous like rental places. One place helped me out and I sent a basket of scones and such with jam with a note that said thanks for getting me out of a jam. You'll see a bride once and a vendor or a facility co-ordinator twenty times. Always feed the , on site staffer their staff and the D. J. They create great referrals.

Well, depends on the budget.
When we opened we did a "Cirque de Gourmet" theme.
We had all kinds of entertainers.
People on stilts, fire eater, acrobats.( I may have pics one the business computer if your interested).

Have some kind of live music no singing just music (Ex. Jazz band, guitarist, pianist or whatever you like)
Have it be an Open House than people can come and go as they please.
Have plenty of food & drinks ( don't forget the champagne)
This is a Celebration!

Budget can be an issue but as a business owner your expenses should be stable. Also, I am assuming this is a small business single store operation (Not a Franchise) and suggest contacting your local radio station (if available) of your preferred choice, Most of them have types of advertising packages for fair prices. They usually come out for a couple hours and set up a tent and giveaway small gifts and advertisements along with drawings and contest for prizes. Then, choose a time period suggestively 1 hour and giveaway a certain tasty but inexpensive item on your menu. If you allow yourself a larger budget then running a contest for a prize is a superb way to draw profit. Larger city stations have a higher budget for these events and have been known to match expenses on prizes. Sports complexes, TV stations etc... are other good areas of sponsorship for promotion.
