Girls 16th birthday party ideas in australia, in may?!
Answers: my daughter has just asked me if she can have a 16th party which isnt a problem but i need some ideas. she has a group of friends ranging in age from 15 to 22 so i need to cater for all of them. they are into goth clothing so i cant go all sweet and girly, if i did that she would laugh at me....lol......they are not emo, just like to dress in the gothic/punk style. if anyone has any ideas, please please help me if you can
Hmm, 16-22? that's a hard one.
Sounds to me like there is going to be a LOT of drinking... unless she's a straight edge? Eitherway look out for that.
To be honest I'm still at the maturity level where pass the parcel is the best game in the world.
Hire out a hall and a DJ.. This way no one will complain about mums bad taste in music, nothing of centimental value can be broken and no dark bedrooms can be found for dirty deeds.
Does she like seances at all? If she's into the whole whitchery thing, then maybe also get a fortune teller or something.
A 16th is not about homestyle, its about getting the best contacts so no body ends up standing around drinking punch all night.
Be sure to have lots of greasy food and maybe posters on the walls of their favourite bands? have a HUGE dark chocolate cake with a ganache covering.. I love chocolate ^^
I really hope this helps! where are the days of a simple dress up as a fairy party hey?
house partyyyyy
register it with the police so u dont get them rocking up if neighbours complain
best 16ths are at the house
I had my sons 18ths party last June........firstly - YES - register the party with the police - so much safer.... and tell your daughter and friends not to list the party on faceparty or msn etc. Secure lighting and a couple of extra adults discreetly hanging around the kitchen helps too. Let your daughter organise the music herself.
Food wise - go with what you normally feed the teenagers. We staggered the food to cover the night....started with cheese and kabana platters scatted around then chicken kebabs and chicken wings on the bbq and kept going with (plastic plates of course) casserole dishes of potato bake, curried sausages, fried rice, garlic bread.
Depending upon your location - we had a brazier in the backyard with precut wood available and baked potatoes wrapped in alfoil.......long tongs available. (This just depends upon the maturity and number of kids)
Dont be surprised if most teenagers while drinking dont want to eat......I just kept dishing up small plates with small amounts of everything and putting them in kids hands - they ate then. Regardless of 'goth/girly/punk/yuppie or nerd' most kids eat eanything familiar (we even had the old macoroni & cheese). We fed 120 teenagers with no hassles (but please register the party and let it be known that the party is registered with the police).
Good luck.
