the party is going to be may 31!. i am having a bit of a tough time coming up with the menu!. i know there will be a pig as the main course!. any ideas for drinks(alcoholic) and appetizer/finger foods would be greatly appreciated!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The most popular Hawaiian alcoholic drinks are the Mai Tai and the Pina Colada (made with rum) or the Chi Chi made with vodka, and here are the recipes!
This is the authentic traditional Mai Tai recipe from the "Mai Tai" Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki!. The original Mai Tai was created by Victor J!. Bergeron in 1944 and brought to Hawaii in 1953 at the Royal Hawaiian, Moana and Surfrider Hotels!.

Pina Colada (The Chi Chi is the same recipe with vodka)

Ingredients:
4 oz!. fresh pineapple juice
3 oz!. rum
2 oz!. coconut cream
2 cups crushed ice
Preparation:
Pour all of the ingredients into a blender!. Blend briefly at high speed!. Strain into a glass and serve!. Garnish with a slice of fresh pineapple and a cherry!.

do a huge fruit tray with watermelon, honeydew, canalope, strawberries, pineapple and anything else you want on it!.!.!. kiwi, grapes ect!.
you could also do kabobs!.!.!. marinate chicken with a nice vinegrette and steak done terriaki!.!.!. yummy

A wonderful drink from Hawaii is "Chitzi"!.

1-6 oz can Coconut Syrup (Available in most grocery stores)
1/8 of fresh ripe pinapple (sliced lengthwise)
1 oz Vodka per drink

Fill a blender 3/4 full with crushed ice
Pour in the Coconut syurp
Place the pinapple in the blender

Blend until liqiud!. Similar to a frozen Margherita!.

Fill a serving glass
Pour 1 oz vodka on top (do not stir)

You'll never have enough, so plan on that!.

Finger food!?
Don't serve Poi! Please don't!.

I can give you a non Hawiian finger food!. Italian!.
A hit anytime!.
Parmesan Chicken Wings

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground pepper to taste
2 pounds chicken wings, cut up
1/2 cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C)!.
Combine Parmesan, parsley, basil, salt and pepper together and place in shallow bowl!.
Dip each piece of chicken into the melted butter, then roll in the cheese mixture, coating well!. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, turning about halfway when browned!.

you should do shrimp shooters!. brine the shrimp in water, oranges, lemon, red onion, ciltrano!. then mix cocktail sauce with a vodka!. put in shot glasses, adding cocktail mixture first and then shrimp, maybe garnish with some greens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is going to sound really stupid, but if you want to make it really Hawaiian, make some SPAM kabobs! In Hawaii, you get SPAM on everything, even pizza! But you won't find any pineapple on the pizza, unlike the typical "mainland" Hawaiian pizza served in parlors!.
Just cube spam, skewer with toothpicks along with a grape tomato and maybe a bit of green bell pepper!. Nice finger food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

One of my favorite drinks, that's served at the Fish House restaurant in Maui is: 1/2 jigger creme de banana, 1 jigger white creme de cacao and 2 jiggers creme, with ice on the blender! (use any measuring cup, but the same proportions as above)!.!.!.!.!.!.

PINEAPPLE MACADAMIA CHEESE BALL
2 (8 oz) pkg!. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c!. grated cheddar cheese
1 (8oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
2 TB!. chopped green onion
2 TB!. chopped onion
1 tsp!. seasoned salt
1/2 c!. chopped macadamia nuts
assorted crackers
Combine all ingredients (except nuts & crackers)!. Mix well and shape into a ball!. Roll in nuts and refrigerate several hours, until well chilled!. Serve with crackers!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
