Is anyone else sick of all these demonstration parties... ?!

Question: Is anyone else sick of all these demonstration parties!.!.!. !?
I am talking about the Avon, Pampered Chef, purses, jewelry, chocolate, sex toys, etc!. kinds of demonstrations!. I've been to each of them at least a dozen times!. I go just to be polite and supportive, but I dread them because it's the same thing every time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I get invited to a ton!. I sometimes go, but usually I'll ask if they have a catalog that I can look at, and if i want to order and support them, I do, and if I don't, I'll just say I didn't see anything new that I really wanted!. Most people understand, but it's a good way to get out of the "party" circuit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, but only because I have learned to politely decline them all!
I lived in a small town when I had my middle child, and it seemed like every other mother thought she was going to make a career out of pushing over-priced spatulas!. If I want an over-priced spatula, I'll go to Williams and Sonoma thank you very much, and as for vibrators- it's called "discreet on-line ordering" :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are too many women who are trying to find ways to work out of the home!. Those demonstration rackets are almost the only way for women to make a buck while they take care of their kids at home!.

I also worked at a govt!. office where women were pushing their demonstration parties (purses and Avon, mainly), so they could make some extra $$!.

I am not interested in any of that stuff!.!.!.it's all overpriced!.
$50 for a purse that isn't even leather or designer!? Kind of crazy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I hate them, I think everyone does, LOL Just as a polite gesture I used to go!. I hate being "forced" into listening to blah, blah, blah about blah, blah, blah!. I dont go anymore, say the least!.!.and most of the time, no one can afford to purchase things like they want you to or expect you to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They stop after awhile:) !.!.!. I went to a ton of those (you forgot Tupperware:) when I was in my 20's!.!.!. Now, everyone my age already has more stuff than they know what to do with, so there aren't any more parties:) also, in your 20's, people are looking for ways to make extra money; or an excuse for a night away from their kids:) !.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm with you!. I got sick of them too, but now I'm older and wiser I'm not as polite as I used to be LOL!. I don't go to any any more and my friends know not to ask me!. If they do I say no!.!.!.still politely, but I don't make an excuse, just no thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stop going! Just say, I wish I cold, but I have to _____ then!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
