Block party?!
every1 gimme a recipe of what u can serve in a block party! im from lebanon! and im willing 2 make the 1st hip hop block party! as a matter of fact! the 1st block party eva! for lotta ppl! not jus certain amount of ppl! i got the djs and mcs ! i have ideas of what to get but just type anythin that gets into ur mind! simple recipes as well! details required if u feel like typing :) i just dont wanna some simple things!

Traditionally, for a block party, you want to have foods that are easy to eat with your hands because most people will be standing, or dancing in your case!. So I would go with small sandwich type stuff like hot dogs, italian sub sandwich sections, burgers, etc!. also, anything on a skewer or stick is good!. Chicken, steak, lamb, vegetables ar anything that you can grill on a skewer!. The fewer plates you need the easier to clean up!. You need some baked goods and sweets too, like cookies, brownies, small cakes or donuts are cool!. Snacks like peanuts, chips, pretzels and candy are good too!. For drinks, make sure you have plenty of water!. Soft drinks are great for the kids, but adults may want beer or wine!. Just make sure its in a solid paper cup so the cops cant see you serving alcohol!. Remember that the food should be fun and set up in such a way that people dont have to wait on line!. You need a few people that will be responsible for restocking the food and drink tables, or handing the food and drinks out so it doesnt get messy!. You'd be surprised at what people will do to food if not watched!. Dont forget to tell the neighbors about the party and that you will be having music as a heads up!. Most prople will be cool if you just let them know in advance!. You will need to get a permit from the city to have a block party and close off the street to cars!. And make sure you know where you are getting power from!. Have an emergency plan ready and someone in charge with a phone and a first aid kit in case someone gets hurt or a child is lost!. at a block party you can pretty much do as you please!. One's I have been to in NYC have hot dogs, burgers, grilled foods like chicken and sausage!. They had an ice luge which is a large chunk of ice that you create a path down and people pour liquor drinks at the top and drink from the bottom!. They had a large bouncy for kids and adults they also had sumo wrestling where you wear those crazy sumo outfits and wrestle each other it was a hoot!. Macaroni salad and potato salads would work well!. I suggest that for something different you may want to make one of your native dishes from lebanon to share with non lebanese people!.
