The pleasure of your company is requested at the birthday celebration of...
Come celebrate Name's birthday
I guess it would help if your party had a theme then you could tie that into the invite. If it's just a normal party I'd go with a classic You're invited.
I saw a cute invite for my friends grad school party... th envelope on the back said, "An honor student is having a grad party" and when you opened the invite it said "but i'd rather you come to mine." So maybe you can do something like that....
HEY YOU! .... lookie, here ...you are invited to the ( whatever them of your party, time, details etc)
Food, refreshments, music / entertainment will be presented !
OR try the theme lyrics of an ABBA song :
You can dance..., you can jive...., Having the time of your life..!
Come to my party!
Is this a theme party? If so you should incorporate that into the wording. Is it casual? Formal? You're invited is a standard so it won't look dorky or crazy. But, if you can incorporate a theme then it looks more coordinated and put together.
make your standard invites and punch a hole through the upper left hand courner... use floss and tie them inbetween two flowers on a lei... that would be soo cute and make sure to tell them to wear their leis to the party... or as a way in the door!!! ?
Instead of traditional invitations, how about creating ones out of paper leis? Or, you could use your favorite flowers with a note attached to them. On the note, keep it brief and too the point: On _______________we are gathering friends and family to celebrate the birthday of ________________. We'd love to have you join us at ________o:clock at ______________________________...

Please RSVP by _______________
Anyway, haave a great time!
For the wording here are some ideas to get you started.

They can be just plain paper cards that you can buy at an art supply store and just embellish with scrapbooking stickers or print a pretty hibiscus flower on the card. My friend does invites and she just finds a paper or design that inspires her and she goes with it.
Just get creative! Do a search for invitations on Google and you'll get a bunch of sites to get ideas from!!
Good Luck!
