Flowers out of fruit?!

Flowers out of fruit?

Does anyone know how to make flowers out of fruit.I know its alot of work but i really want to do it for a party.THanks

It would be too difficult to explain how to do this without showing you how they are done with the step by step pictorial instructions. It would be best if you went to a book store( or a library) and look at the books that are offered on this subject. I can suggest one that uses vegetables ( which seem to hold up better). It is Gourmet Bouquet by Julia Weinberg. I used it to learn how to do the flowers, many years ago. It might be out of print now.

I make them with my g/f, it's all on how you cut them, can't go into all the ways of cutting but I'll give ya an easy one. Get something small like a cherry tomato or melon ball and with a small knife through the middle start making a horizontal zig-zag (kinda like a mountain range... sorry best thing i could think of it looking like) but only put the knife in half way. once you've made it all the way around gently pull apart and there you have the top of a flower or just a decorative piece. hope that helped a bit.
