In HOT AZ - 9:00pm outside reception?!

Question:

In HOT AZ - 9:00pm outside reception?

I want to do my daughter's senior graduation reception. I am going to do a dessert reception with a chocolate fountain, BUT what else could I do? It is in June and hot in the evenings in Arizona so it should be something that is not going to spoil or melt... Any suggestions?

Answers:
I think this is a great idea, buy all your patries that have dairy products in them frozen.

One thing I would consider with all these sweets are bugs. I live in upstate NY and I know in June where there are sweets and lights there are mosquitos. It would be really gross to have a bug in your chocolate fountain.

I live in AZ also and the best thing I can suggest is call one of the local catering companies (Phoenix area, Santa Barbara, Heidi's etc.) and do it through them. They have done hundreds of outdoor events and know exactly what does well in the AZ heat. I know that they both travel outside the Phoenix area if needed. If they can't come to you I'm sure they can suggest some items that will work (i.e. lemon bars, pecan cups, brownies, mini cheesecakes (you can get these pre-made and frozen so you can put them out a little early and they will thaw by themselves), cream puffs (same as the cheesecakes).

Hope this helps!

Go inside!!!! Then no problems!!!
