I left my credit card at the bar what should i do?

There are two scenarios:
a) If it's because you dropped the card or left it anywhere besides holding a tab open, call and CANCEL the card. Tell them the last legitimate charge, about when you lost it, and any other info they may need. Be very sure to follow up in WRITING referencing the phone call you made (date & time) and what it was about; you need to repeat your request to cancel the card. Send as a certified letter with return receipt requested. Document, document, document. Remember that if someone uses your card fraudulently, the credit card company has to foot the bill and they don't want to (they'd rather make you pay for it).
b) If you left it with the bartender to keep a tab open, call the bar. Also, call the credit card company and put a fraud alert or HOLD on the card and explain the situation. Then you'll need to quit using that card for a while just to make sure. Most bars are very honest about cards left at their establishment, but you never know.
In either case, keep a close eye on your statements. It's better if you don't use the card for a while even if you recover it.
If it's a DEBIT card that is linked to your checking account, you many need to close the account. An associate at your bank will be able to help you with this and explain some things to watch out for regarding fraud and ID theft.
It's a hassle to do all the paperwork and dispute charges, but necessary.

Experience with a stolen card number (not the card, just the number).
call the credit card company and cancel it.....
I would have already has cancel it. It is probably gone already is you are planning to go back.
You should call the bar. Or go over there and check to see if they have it.
call your crdit card company and tell them to cancel it.
and any money that is charged after the time you left the bar you are not reppnsible for.
call the FAST!
i agree: call the credit card company and cancel it!! hurry.
Been there, done that
Just go back w/ valid id and pick it up. You can call them ahead of time to let them know, but if you had a tab going, then they will still have your card. And they've probably already charged it, like they did mine. LOL
Call the bar, ask them if they found it... I worked in bars for years, you don't have to worry about the employees using it, but if you call and they don't have it, I highly recommend cancelling it. If you dropped it on the floor or somewhere else, a person with no morals could have picked it up, they could be having a shopping field day as we speak...Call the bar first thing...they probably will be open around 10 or 11 am
happens all the time..........they probably have waiting for you.......call them up
Check with the bar first to see if they have it, if not, call the credit card company and CANCEL it.
Cancel the card immediately.
Call the bar and ask then if anyone found it and turned it in or if it is still behind the bar.
If they do have it go pick it up and then go on-line and check the charges on it.
If the charges are not what you put on it you will need to 1) call the bar and contest the charges with them. The bank will ask you if you have tried to work out a resolution with them first. 2) Call the bank, find out the process for disputing charges on your card. 3) Close this card and have a new one issued as your number may be floating out there with untrustworthy people.
I sure hope you had enough fun last night to make up for the time and frustration of going through all of this!! :)
Call the bar and see if they found it.If not call the credit card company right away and cancel the card.Explaine to them what happened.Tell them dates and times so they can document that info and you won`t be responsible for any charges you did not authorize.Read your statements closely for a while just to make sure there`s nothing on your card that shouldn`t be.
Cancel it before anyone takes it and uses it.
Call the credit card company asap to block your card.
I would first check with the bar to see if they found it. You also should call your credit card company first thing to make sure no fraudulent charges were charged to the card. If so, you would want to dispute those charges and cancel the card ASAP.
First you should terminate the credit card then you should renew it.
Call the bar to make sure that they have it and then call your credit card company and cancel your card.
Call the bar....happened to me, I called the next day and picked it up that night, they had it in their safe.
Look for it.
go back to the bar and see if they still have it, if not cancel it quick.
call your bank and cancel it
Cancel your card right away, and call the bar and asked if anyone might have turned it in.
Call and identify your self and tell them to connect you to the manager.Ask him or her, then call and tell the co. you lost it,why chance it.....
