Tiki Bar or Tiki Hut?!
Tiki Bar or Tiki Hut?
How can I make a tiki bar with not alot of materials? It's for my soon-to-be 7 yr. olds sisters birthday party. She is having a Luau & we wanted to have a little tiki bar for hot-dogs, smoothies, snow-cones & chips. Please help the party is on Sunday!

Those two suggestions are great but I would like for it to have a top over it.

You may be able to find something at a party supply store. Otherwise, my suggestion would be to use a card table, put a hula skirt around it and decorate it with leis, party decor palm trees, etc. They're 7, I wouldnt stress about being too literal.
Buy a few tiki torches, buy some bright plastic leis (they are super cheap at party stores!), look at Wal-Mart or Target for some inexpensive dishes that tie in with the theme (like plates, cups and serving dishes). Light some candles or string some white lights for ambiance. Tah-dah! You're all set.
I used this theme for my youth group. I made chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce, had a hula contest with skirts we made from trash bags , did a limbo contest. I used grass skirts to decorate a card table and lots of silly cheap items..like sea shells. leis, coconuts. I would be cautious of candles with kids. Party supply stores have tons of items to use
Party City has just what you are looking for. It sits on top of a long table. It consists of 4 poles that attach to a thatched roof. It comes with flower garlands to cover the poles. Look for it in a box in their Luau section.
