Does anyone have any suggestions on how to throw 2 housewarming parties at once?
My sister wants to throw a housewarming party for me and my husband, as well as a cousin on the married side of her family. We both bought houses last month after living parallel lives, (i.e. we have both spent the last couple of years living with our parents) we finally have our independence and want to celebrate it, while not taking away anything from the other family's houses.

How about a "progressive party"? Guests can start at one of your homes for appetizers and drinks and end at the other house for the main dish and dessert! Or snacks at each. That way each house gets equal treatment and the family can celebrate with everyone!
Combine the two into one big party. That way, one won't look like it is getting more than the other. Two separate cakes would be nice. If you have a design baker in town or nearby, ask if they can design two cakes the shape of a house with windows and a door. Then add a saying.
You will defeat the purpose of having a housewarming if you have both together. The idea behind them is to invite your friends and family to your house, to show it off and throw your first party in you new home. It's commonly thrown by the new owners of the house, not a sister. If you celebrate the party together, one of you is going to be shortchanged. Maybe one of you could have yours on Memorial Day and the other have it on "Independence Day". It will give a recuperation time for common relatives and friends.
