I asked this a while back and got some ideas. I chose to go for a mexican night where everyone has to dress up mexican, mexican food, mexican drinks, pin the tail on the donkey and pinata. Also, i liked the idea of a murder mystery party. There are loads that are held all around the country and you can also buy packs online to host your own at home. I have now opted to hire a function room with dj for my 30th, but am also hosting a mexican murder mystery at home for my close friends too (i know, i know - im greedy - lol). Have fun.
u need to understand the person well before u buy for her. just in case that person is sensitive to certain stuff. my recommend see what she lack and does she really need it now.

Many women would not want a 30th birthday party. I say head to Cheeseburgers in Paradise and have a few drinks.
Take her to see male strippers, that is what I am going to do for my 30th in two years.
I'll give a $100 AMEX gift certificate or cash. This way she can buy anything she wants and it'll avoid you getting her something might be wasted.
If she's not too close to you, $50 is fine.

My bestfriend just turned 30 a couple months ago and we through her a party outside in the backyard..just invite a bunch of close friends and family, have lots of drinks/and or kegs...a disco and a BBQ...those are always fun!!

i am certain that if it is her 30th birthday, she has dropped some MAJOR hints in regards to her expectations. go overboard...breakfast in bed, piece of jewellery to remember this milestone, flowers at work, family and friends for drinks, and a very classy martini party to help celebrate this new phase in her life. make her know you think she is the most incredible thing on earth. give her a memory that will last the rest of her life!!!
i felt really, really old when i turned 30. i didn't want a party. my husband and friends took me away to the beach. when i woke up in the morning, they had decorated the condo like a little kid's birthday party, with hats, streamers, balloons, and a kid's cake. i laughed so hard. i felt so silly for thinking i was old, my life had just begun! whatever you do for her, she will think it was so nice that someone thought of her.
