Mother's Day Brunch?!

Question: Mother's Day Brunch!?
Okay, I work in the restaurant business, so I should know better, but I waited do long to make brunch resos for me and my mom, and all the good places are booked for the best time slots, SOOOOOO!.!.!.

I invited my mom over for brunch, and I'm making:

Chicken and Swiss Cheese Quiche
Romaine lettuce salad with dried cherries, walnuts, goat cheese and poppy seed dressing
Fresh strawberries and pineapple

I'm thinking something chocolate for dessert, and I want to have some kind of bread, but because the salad and fruit are so sweet, I don't want muffins or sweet rolls!.

Any suggestions!?

(oh, and I'm having Mimosas, of course!)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your menu sounds good!

One of my favorites, Popovers:

They are light and airy, I think it will work well with your menu and perfect for a brunch!.

EDIT: OK, now that you are asking for chocolate desert, how about brownies or chocolate pudding with whipped cream, boxed chocolates, chocolate dipped strawberries, or a basic chocolate cake!.!.!.there are so many chocolate deserts I love!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always found banana nut bread to be less sweet, you could dip it in dark chocolate, with a high coco content!.
also, if you don't want a sweet bread, go with like a garlicy cheese bread to go with the salad and just melt some chocolate to go with the strawberries and pinapples!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How about a nice chocolate mousse with chocolate shavings on top for dessert!? It'd go nicely with fresh fruit and isn't too heavy!. As for bread, I would just go to a bakery and get some assorted dinner rolls, maybe some with poppy to compliment your salad dressing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that based on your menu you should do croissants!. That would be really nice, not sweet and not too salty!. They also work well because you are having a brunch and they up the "fancy factor"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
