Why do we look at partying and entertaining as two different things?
can you please tell me the difference in both of them?

I entertain for you!
Partying = Getting drunk/stoned/high, getting wild, self-serving fun & mayhem. Entertaining=Providing a pleasant environment in which to socialize in a relatively neutral manner. However, when someone parties too much it can be very entertaining for others.
I think when you set out to party, you are out to be sure YOU have a good time. When you decide to entertain, you want to be sure OTHERS have a good time.
