Make these baked beans! They're out of this world! I'm sure you could make them in the crock pot!

The Once and Future Beans Recipe courtesy Alton Brown
Show: Good Eats
Episode: Pantry Raid II: Cool Beans

1 pound dried Great Northern beans
1 pound bacon, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 jalapenos, chopped
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
Vegetable broth
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons kosher salt

Heat oven to 250 degrees F.
Soak beans in a plastic container overnight in just enough cold water to submerge them completely.

Place a cast iron Dutch oven over medium heat and stir in the bacon, onion, and jalapenos until enough fat has rendered from the bacon to soften the onions, about 5 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste, dark brown sugar, and molasses.

Drain the beans and reserve the soaking liquid. Add the drained beans to the Dutch oven. Place the soaking liquid in a measuring cup and add enough vegetable broth to equal 4 cups of liquid. Add the liquid to the Dutch oven and bring to a boil over high heat. Add in cayenne, black pepper and salt. Give them a stir and cover with the lid. Place the Dutch oven in the oven for 6 to 8 hours, or until the beans are tender.

depending on how many people will be there this is boil 10 potatoes until you can stab with knife and they slide off. grate them like shredded cheese. 1 qt of half and half, 1 qt of cream, 1 stick of melted butter (more if you like) and some salt. I use 1 tsp, but you can use what you want or now and salt as eaten. Stir it all together put in a greased baking dish I would use a throw away one and bake at 350 for like 40 mins or until brown around edge and set. I can't begin to tell you how good these are. It make like one of those throw away pans that are a little bigger that 11X13 they dont really have a size that I know of.

Or make taco salad we brown ground beef drain add diced tomato, shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese and bottle of russian dressing and broken tortilla chips and sliced black olives if you like them. Also always goes quick.

Broccoli Souffle

6 eggs
6 tbsp flour
12 oz cottage chz
1 stick butter (melted)
1 lb velveeta (cubed)
1 bag frozed broccoli florets

Melt butter and add eggs. Then add flour, cottage chz, and mix. Add cheese then broccoli. Mix. Pour into 9 x 13 casserole. Bake at 425 for 45 min to one hour.

Always a hit at gatherings!

Make something in a crock pot. Like bake beans or BBQ. Banquet makes great crock pot meals and you just cook and serve.

Kraft foods has some great recipes.

Good Luck.
