My friends and I are going to have a cookout in July at a park. We are all Mexican-American couples. Please give us some ideas of games, food, etc.

You could grill some chicken and steak for Fajitas. Grill your Bell Peppers and Onions together to add flavor. We did this with our kids and inlaws for Cinco-da Mayo and it was great. Have Fun !

you could roast a pig

my friends (huge) family did something similar. we ended up having a "fogata"after the barbaque, when it was getting dark. kinda like a bombfire. then an uncle brought his guitar and we sang (badly) until it was time to go. oh... and there was something about set-on-fire-something-you-hate and I threw my calculus test in the fire haha... other people brought stuff to throw in too.

For food, try eating kabobs and ribs on the grill, they're great!

you can ask ahead if you can light a small camp fire, the park we went to did :)

Aw, c'mon, Corona's and soccer aren't a good time?

How about a Pirate Party????
Dress up, hide treasures, swordfights, wenches.......

Have fun.

BRING THE BLANKETS1 BOARD GAMES 1 LIKE SCRABBLE,THE OTHER JENGA, AND OF COURSE A SOCCER BALL.FOOD SHOULD BE POTLUCK OF COURSE GET TOGETHER AND DECIDE ON A MENU, FOR INSTANCE 1 SMALL TAMELES OF ONE KIND , SOME KIND OFGREEN SALAD WITH DRESSING ON SIDE,NO MAYO.MAKE SOMETHING DIFFRENT LIKE SLOPPY JOES BUT SPICEY, WITH CHIPOLTLE SAUCE,AND YOUR USUAL MIXED GRILLED MEATS, AND FOR DESSERTS 1WATER MELON,GRAPES, ORANGE'S,MANGO'S,AND PINEAPPLE'S, MAKE SURE YOU KEEP EVERYTHING TO DRINK IN ICE, NAMASTE

I can give you some food ideas.... try not cooking Mexican. Try cooking somethings from other Latin American countries. Cubans make great roast port, Puerto Ricans great chicken dishes, in Argentina grilling meats is an art. There are many web sites for cooking tips (in Spanish & English) from all of these countries. Leave the tequila home and drink rum and or aguardente.
Buena fiesta y buen provecho

"Kitty Litter Cake"

CAKE INGREDIENTS:
1 box spice of German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS"
1 NEW cat-litter box 1 NEW cat-litter box liner 1 NEW pooper scooper

1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape
The blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper with sign below, and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

Go with the good old fashion BBQ. Hot dogs, hamburgs, coleslaw, and potato salad. You could play bingo, have a pinata fill with candy, water balloons, and card games.

Just remember to bring lots of drinks and food.

Good Luck and have fun.

have a food competition, and have couples all bring a small portion of the same reciepe, everyone can vote and the winner get a prize..it helps with food and its fun
