Microwave POPCORN DEADLY??? Is this true?

It says microwave popcorn produces chemicals in factories that give you some kind of popcorn lung cancer thing.
Is this true and does it effect us eating it at home?
Answers:
Eating the powdery flavored coatings is different from breathing them into your lungs. Just because something you breath into your lungs is dangerous, it doesn't mean it's dangerous to EAT it. Hell, a t-bone steak would kill you if you breathed it!
I have 24 hours to live! Mommy!!
Bah. Horse hockey.
yes
I read that is! It was in the green issue of ELLE magazine from May. That crap is toxic. I dont even want to eat anymore.
no but if u burn it and it catch on fire that could be a bad thing!!
Did you read the article? It answers your question.
well not just pop corn anything u put in the microwave gives u cancer so be careful what u eat!
i would say no because ive eatin plenty of popcorn with no "popcorn lung cancer"..
Consumers don't get the massive doses that the workers do, but if the additive is toxic, there's no harm in finding an alternative.. Most stores carry butter free microwave popcorn, and if you add real melted butter, it's actually much better than the pre-flavored product.
Definitely maybe, but not likely for you. Only for popcorn factory workers who choose to breathe it 8 hours a day for years on end rather than wear the masks their employers issue to them. I read that article, too. I think that the article is basically a lawyer's gimmick - a part of some lawsuit.
I wouldn't give too much credance to it, unless you have a habit of microwaving the popcorn until it's burnt, opening it immediately, and breathing the fumes deeply.
Just remember: Consuming anything, in any amount, is deadly. The mortality rate for everyone is absolutely 100%.
maybe if its really buttery and salty
First of all that article is the stupidest thing I have ever read. You can not get lung cancer from popcorn. No, it is not true. They need to do more research. They are just trying to scare you.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever told you that is an emptyhead.
I'm not chancing it anymore, I'm gonna make popcorn the old fashion way it's much safer and actually it tastes better!!!
