Having a BBQ and want some easy side dishes.?!

Question:

Having a BBQ and want some easy side dishes.?

Having a BBQ next weekend and have all the usual items of food but am stuck for side dishes. Salad invariably gets left as does rice or noodles ...... any easy suggestions on what to serve with BBQ food as a way of an accompianment ??

Answers:
Baked beans are always good, as is corn on the cob. I make potatoes in a packet. Cut up some potato, onions, a little salt/pepper, then a pat of butter. Wrap in foil and grill until done about 15- 20 minutes. You can make individual packets or a large one. The corn and beans can also be placed on the grill. Enjoy your BBQ!!! What time should I be there?

potato salad

A pot of pinto beans always saddles up nicely with our BBQ along with corn on the cob and Texas toast.

Yummy potato salad mix boiled potatoes, onion, oregano and mayo altogether in a bowl, always gets eaten at my parties!

Veggie burgers, also known as Nut cutlets. They are vegetarian burgers with vegetables and nuts in and they are really tasty and healthy.

I make this really easy pasta salad and it's good!! Buy some tri-colored rotini noodles, cut black olives, broccoli, italian dressing and parmesaen cheese in a can. Cook noodles and let chill. Cut broccoli into small pieces. Add broccoli and olives to noodles. Then add italian dressing and cheese to taste, depending on your preference! Good luck!

I prefer the remains of my slain enemies but you would probrably want to make corn on the cob.

deviled eggs,(they always get eaten) Lil' smokies in bbq sauce in a crockpot. cubed watermelon or cantilope, chips and salsa, grapes, mushroom caps filled with pepper jack and heated in foil on the grill. Corn cobs left with the husks, (clean out the silk first) then dip them in water, and wrap with foil, and heat them on the grill. various cheeses cut into cubes.

you should make a seven layer salad.......use a glass bowl to show your "hard work". there are different versions, but you can make it to your liking.

mash potatoes and maybe mac and cheese

roasted veggies!

this is my favorite dish to make and it is so easy! it depends on how many you are serving but what im gonna put down will serve like 10 people so you can vary it to your liking.

5 cans sliced potatoes
1/2 cup minced onions
salt ( your preference how much i do not like alot of salt)
1-2 containers sour cream
1 1/2 bags shredded cheddar
1/2 - 1 stick of butter or margarine

*open cans of potatoes and drain.
*Mix the potatoes, onions, 1 container sour cream and 1 bag cheddar cheese in a bowl.
**(make sure the sour cream covers the potatoes and cheese evenly- if it does not add more sour cream til it has an even coat)
*spray a 9 x 13 glass pan with cooking spray and put the mixture in the pan and cover with cheese
* cover top with butter
*bake for 45 mins to an hour on 375 degrees

it is delicious! i hope you try it because i know when i make it i never have any left over

I also make it as a meal by itself sometimes i just cut up already cooked ham and add it!!!!

Another recipe we make for picnics and stuff that goes over well is hot potato salad.

*peel enough potatoes as if you were making mashed potatoes
*boil the potatoes
*boil 6-10 eggs
*cut up 1 onion (
* 1/2 jar of dill pickle spears
*when eggs are done boiling cut up
*when potatoes are done boiling take a fork and mash them you do not want them smooth like mashed potatoes you want some texture to them.

**mix the potatoes, eggs, onions, pickles in a bowl
** add salt, mayo, pickle juice and mustard (i just go by taste sorry i dont have an amount.

*** you can add more or less pickles, eggs and onions depending on your preference.

These are both great dishes i hope you try them and enjoy them!!!!!!!!
