Back to School Party help?!?!?!

Question:

Back to School Party help?!?!?

I'm having a back to school party before Middle School starts and I want it to be GREAT! I want it to be a boy/girl dance party. I need game ideas. I want the games to be grown up but not too grown up. Any Ideas?

Answers:
Twister. If I'm catching your drift correctly. Grown-ups play twister, but you can still have fun with it too. Maybe even throw in a few laughs with a crush.

i am just finishing sixth grade so maybe i can help! entering middle school is a big deal... there is cliques that u go against and the best games to make u look not like to grown up but popular would be old fashioned games like spin the bottle and twister! just remember this is your last chance to be a little kid all u really need to do is have some fun

Just make sure you have some food and great music and it will be a blast (try burning cds of yours and your friends favorite songs!)
If its hot out, its always fun to have a water fight, stock up on water balloons and squirt guns :o) Although if you guys are trying to look nice, that might not be the best idea- but its fun!
Why don't you have a dance contest? You can pick winners for the best dancer, craziest dancer, etc
Good luck and have fun!

My friend did this way back in 7th grade and it turned out to be a hit. When the guests arrive, have everyone write his/her name on a piece of paper and place into a shoebox with a slit in the top (one box for boys, one box for girls). Snacks and punch will keep them occupied while they mingle with one another waiting for the others. Once all the guests have arrived, make an announcement. Ask for a volunteer. Ask him/her to come up and draw a name from the box of the opposite sex.The name he draws is his dance partner. Keep doing this until everyone has a partner. Then the fun begins. Play the music loud and have a few designated judges. You are now hosting a dance competition. Each team will dance for 30 seconds while everyone watches. After everyone has had a turn, everyone votes. Then just carry on as normal. This is a great ice breaker and a great way to get people to break out of their shells or "cliques," and talk to other people.
