What is a good place to have a formal dance party in louisville?!

Question:

What is a good place to have a formal dance party in louisville?

I am looking for a nice building to have my formal dance party at. In the Jefferson County area. I want a very nice unique place, preferably not a school and it can't be too small. I also would like for it to be nice where people can go outside. It can't be crazy expensive either. I know I'm picky:) If you rented a place you really liked or know about a place please let me know with details! Thanks!

Answers:
One of the most unique places would be a Belle of Louisville steamboat cruise, but rates are between $2,200 & $3,800. There is the less expensive alternative of the Spirit of Jefferson boat cruise with prices between $1,200 & $2,100.

A nice unique place with easy outside access is The Olmstead at 3701 Frankfort Avenue, but rental can be as high as $1,900 for a Saturday night.

Places likely to be less expensive alternatives (and also less unique) would include The German-American Club at 1840 Lincoln Avenue, Masterson's by U of L at 1830 S 3rd Street, & Blair's Ballroom at 9321 New LaGrange Road.

Many hotels also have rental space available for formal dance's as well.
