Answers:
An invalid is a person dependent upon other for life.
You would need to know what type of medical condition they have before you can plan a meal.

If you are talking about an older person that is unable to drive...then first you will need to know if they have any dietary restrictions or needs, such as low salt, low sugar, or even a certain texture or consistency of the food.

The food you would feed them depends upon their condition. Did they have a stroke which damaged swallowing? Then they could be npo (tube feeding required) or require a thick pureed diet. If they can chew and swallow, a soft or regular diet is probably alright. Rice is hard to form into a bolus to swallow, so I'd avoid that.

PUREED DIET:
Cream of Tomato Soup
Pureed Baked Chicken
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Pureed Green Beans
Cheesecake (no crust) or Pudding

SOFT DIET:
Tomato-Basil Soup w/ Saltine Crackers
Soft Baked Chicken
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Green Beans
White Bread w/ Butter
Applesauce w/ Cinnamon

REGULAR DIET:
Beef-Vegetable Soup w/ Saltines
Herb Roasted Chicken
Roasted New Potatoes w/ Rosemary
Broccoli Spears
Whole Wheat Bread w/ Butter
Apple Pie
