Surprise 50ish Birthday Party for my step mom!!?!

Question:

Surprise 50ish Birthday Party for my step mom!!?

Help!! I need some help and ideas for a surprise birthday party. She's not outdoorsy at all. She's an easy go lucky type person, has lots of friends.

She has been a very important person in my life and I want her to show how much she means to me and the people around her.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm... you said she is not an outdoorsy person so a luxe party on the pier is out of the question. What you could do is make it a girl's day off. Make the house a little spa. Put some music on and get little flower necklaces (like a hula party) for her and her buddies. Get some foot spas and polish, cucumber slices for the eyes. And to top it off you could hire people to cater or cosmetology students to do the beauty treatments.

Or you could do it by yourself by looking up and preparing fresh summer meals from recipes from http://www.kraftfoods.com
and enlisting help from her grandkids or friends of the family for the pedi and manicures.

OK that means she was born in the 50's. So a 50s theme she was too young and the 60's she was still pretty young so do a 70s theme. Have everyone dress up in 70s clothes and get the disco balls and music very saturday night live. Good luck

Location is up to you but to make it easier on you for food you could have ladies to bring a plate on the invitation and then you have more time to look at finer detail depending on your budget such as decorations ,birthday banner etc. Maybe if there is an ultimate surprise it could be having someone she has not seen in a very long time attend the party and bring them out after you have done the whole surprise thing for a double whammy she may have mentioned someone or your hubby may know of such a person and how to make it possible. Dont think it stingy asking ppl to bring a plate of food they are helping on the appreciation sides of things to her
