We're having a tiki/hawaiian suprise party for my hubby~?!

Question:

We're having a tiki/hawaiian suprise party for my hubby~?

We're having a tiki/hawaiian suprise party for my hubby~ he's the one who usually cooks so I'm having trouble planning a menu.

Any ideas??? My brother in-law said he'd BBQ. I have a baby so I need to prepare a lot of things the night before so I can set up for the party while hubby is at work and my son naps.

I have $200 budget for dinner + $100 for chips/appetizers. There will prob. be 20 adults.

We're doing the same thing for a friend of ours, and we are actually going to have it catered in. It is going to cost us around $250.00 for everything, they even set-up and clean up. It's worth checking on espically if you have a little one to take care of. Plus does your brother-in-law really want to spend the whole party at the grill?

You can take whatever the caterer offers and make it more "hawaiian" by adding decorations to the table, or using placecards to "Label" the food, Hawaiian type names.

Good luck and enjoy!!

BBQ is always a good idea. Its fairly cheap and goes over well with the guests. Since its a luau, fruit is always a good idea as an appetizer or side dish. I'm sure anything you come up with will be appreciated. Good luck :-)

Here is a link with some good ideas:
