Ideas for fundraisers in small town with food?!?!

Question:

Ideas for fundraisers in small town with food?!?

I was just wondering if anyone had any good idea's for something quick cheap and inexpensive as possible for a fund raiser. We have people doing donations of money so what would be a good idea.

There are going to be several local bands playing to help raise money and we would like to have a foodstand up to help raise more money. What would be a quick easy food to do. Hot dogs are great I know but can you guys give me some more ideas???? Anything would help!

Rice Krispy treats, chips, hot dogs, pop corn (from previous answers) were good ideas, anybody more to add to this??? Thanks! (by the way this is a small town hoping to get a big turn out! Thanks!

What about a chili cookoff. That always tastes great and is fun.

Funnel cakes or carmel (or kettle) corn always seem to go over well where I live (Kansas City). Also drinks like lemonade are great....different than water or pop. Sno cones are good ideas too. Waffle cups of homemade ice cream.

Shishkabobs...beef, chicken, lamb, and shrimp on the grill. All proceeds will be donated so people will pay a little more for the meats. Yum!

Our group chose three and it was a big success.First we had a Boston Butt cookout, all volunteer cooks the evening before the event and that may have been the most fun of all. Then we ask all grandmas, moms, and dads,to cook cakes and pies. The turnout on the grandmas was for sure the best food, second only to the moms. The dads though created a real novelty feel to the sale and you talk about fun! These dads got competetive and really had fun with it.
We sold the Butts for $20 and got the local grocers to actually donate some because we bought so many.We agreed to put a banner up behind the grill on the ballpark fence and they got great response due to the small town and loyalty that comes with that.

have you thought of a taco stand it quick and cheap and every body loves tacos. Or you could have a corn roast. Spagetti feed, a fish fry, or a local type of food.

bbq chicken... people always stop at a place that has a roaring fire and the smell of bbq'd chicken wafting towards the road. mmm mmm good. maybe some little pieces of corn on the cob. yummy!

Why not add sloppy joes or pulled beef or pulled pork sandwiches. All are easy to make ahead, freeze and reheat in crock pot. You could have a number of people making them at home and night of party, have the meat in crock pots.

What about a bake sale? Anyone a great cookie maker? Package their cookies in small portions and sell those. Candy makers involved? I used to make chocolate pops and we'd sell them at fundraiser. All sorts of mold available. What about nachos? You buy supplies at SAMS, COSCO, GFS, etc. Place the chips on a plate or in a sided container, sprinkle some pre-browned ground beef, onions, peppers, etc on top and melted cheese. Kids love these. Is this an adult affair? Liquor allowed? What about jello shots?

Good luck and make a lot of $$$

Sausage and pepper sandwiches....They smell so good cooking that you want to eat even if you're not hungry!

How about a wing-eating contest or a rib eating contest - the eaters pay a little entry fee?

Don't forget things like hot pretzels, candy apples, caramel apples, ice cream bars, and fresh lemonade! Chicken or turkey legs, or pulled pork or bbq sandwiches also go over well too - you want to think portable food. (If people need a knife and fork and to sit to eat, it's not going to go over well.)

Another thing to consider - ask some local restaurants to donate some time and foods to set up "tasting booths" where people buy some tickets at the main gate ($5 each or something reasonable where people will buy multple tickets) and use them for small portions of certain specialty foods or drinks from these restaurants. A town near me does this every summer and it is always crowded! I think it's a cool way for people to try places they haven't been yet - if you don't like the food, you're not stuck with a huge portion or a big check.

The hot dogs will go over great.Nachos are a great seller. On the desserts, take and get people to make cupcakes and donate.Wrap them in cellophane. Also take some fresh baked(or bought) cookies and put them in baggies. When people are walking around they want to be able to eat and walk without worrying about any spills.Cheap and a donation bucket is always the way to go.I have been to several fund raisers now days that have a silent auction.Fun.Good luck with the sale and make that money...
