Party Ideas?!

Question:

Party Ideas?

I want to have a little get together with 9 girls and 4 boys. They are young teens. I am drawing a blank as to what to do. There is no theme like birthday or anything so I can't think of something that would appeal to everyone. Can you help? Also I don't want to spend a lot of money.

Answers:
hmm, how about a Survivor theme? You could break them into two teams (with names that work for you and your friends...something that reflects your geographical location or interests) and do team challenges.

In the past, we've had challenges such as tricycle races, egg tosses/rolls, a high heeled race (team members wear high heeled shoes and transfer spoonfuls of colored water from one of the course to a cup at the other end), kickball (we called it "kick the skull" for effect) and once, when we had 3 teams of 10, we had a HUGE twister challenge, using 4 mats!

The food is simple -- hot dogs over a fire, if possible, chips, water, soda, punch...with a big dirt cake (with gummy worms and plastic spiders...so this kinda feels like a Survivor/Fear Factor theme, now that I think about it).

Tribal council is the presentation of cheap medals for the winners -- or the opening of presents if it happens to be a birthday party. We've never voted anyone off of an island, though...what kind of memory would that be?

Decor is really up to you. We rent a huge club with a lot of grounds (our parties have grown to three teams of 15 this year!), and use tiki torches and palm trees, etc. For party favors, we ordered brightly colored bandanas and silicon monkey bracelets from Oriental Trading Co., and they're all very well received.

We always have the kids sleep over, watching movies on a huge screen tv until they finally crash, but you certainly don't need to do that, unless you want.

Good luck!

TOGA, TOGA, TOGA

what about a pirate theme, they can make their own hat from newspaper. have a contest with the best pirate face/joke/costume/act.food like chicken wings (eating bones from dead pirates), have red cordial-blood, have feathersword fights and guess the mystery gooey items, a cracked egg, a hook, a peg leg etc.

do you have access to a pool? or have them choose a dvd , show it and after provide pizza, cokes, and DESSERTs.Add the music they bring and they will probaly want you to at lleast go to the next room, so they can giggle and flirt, etc. If you don't have a pool, get a couple of water hoses (like for watering grass and let them run thru the water. Buy a slip and slide. Strings some inexpersive lights(find them at Target) add music, food, towerls. Good luck.

Go to the Dollar store and buy a DVD movie and fix some popcorn , candy bar and soda for the teens.
Or if u have a trampoline, give them some chalk and let them do some art.
Or just get a volleyball game going, use your clothesline if
u do not have a net.
Or buy some paint and u all have a painting party, painting something around your yard.
Or go pick blackberries, honeysuckles,or look for 4 leaf clovers. Good Luck and give them chewing gum.
