Creative minds needed - I have hit a decorating snag?!

Question: Creative minds needed - I have hit a decorating snag!?
I already asked this question in the hobbies and crafts sections but I haven't received any suggestions that would work!. So I am hoping all the creative minds of the party planners here will be able to come up with some great suggestions!
I am trying to come up with something that I can make fake candy out of!. I was going to use styrofoam rings to make lifesavers and big circles to make lollipops out of BUT the styrofoam pieces are way more than I want to spend for something that is going to end up in the trash!. These are meant to be decorations for my sisters candy themed graduation party!. I really want them to be three dimensional - they also need to be lightweight enough to hang from the ceilings and walls!. They also need to be fairly large!. Any ideas!? Thank you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

My first thought, put two paper plates together wrap in colored plastic and tie the ends with ribbon to make them look like big pieces of candy!. If you add sticks to the bottom of some and tie you make lollipops!. Hang with fish line!. You can use smaller and larger plates!.

Congrats to the Grad! Have a great party!Www@FoodAQ@Com

u could save old candy wrappers (hersheys reeses etc) and wrap them around pieces of cardboard to make chocolates!. Use lids from empty jars (like mayo jars, pickle jars, anything like tht) and cover them with colored tissue paper!. use a pencil or rod or pipecleaner, something like that to tape to the end!. and u just made lollypops!.
it shouldnt be too expensive to do tht stuff!. good luck tho, hopefully i helped!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use shiny Christmas balls and put clear cellophane around them; tie at 2 ends for big hard candies !.!.!.!.!.use the tubes from inside paper towels or toilet paper to cover with construction paper (or paint) to look like rolls of lifesavers (cover the ends with foil) !.!.!.!.!.!.Big cardboard circles (cut from boxes) can be painted to look like red & white "starlight" mints!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I had the same probelm with my centerpieces, but i just found circulars for the craft stores and everytime they had a coupon i bought styrofoam you could try pieces of cardboard glued together than wrapped with a piece of fabric or paper of some sortWww@FoodAQ@Com
