No!. It's about your personality!. You don't have to be stunning but you need good people skills and bar skills!. Good bar skills attract attention from your customers because they'll notice your good service!. then you need to engage them, flirt with them, make them feel good about staying in your bar and being served by you!. Talk to everyone, greet them nicely, flatter them and work hard for your tips!. Know when to interrupt conversation with a cheeky quip and when to simply get them a refil without question!. Focus entirely on the customers and because they love the attention and it makes them feel good, they'll give it right back to you in tips!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'd like to believe differently, that you could look whichever way you want, but it depends on where you're applying!. If it's for a fancy restaurant you'll just want to look decent, well groomed, and well dressed!.
However, for a bar that usually men frequent, yes, they do discriminate ( although they don't like to right out say it ) against thinner, more veluptuous sexy young women, then average or not so good looking girls!. It's more pleasing to the eyes of their ' male ' customers and it helps for business!.

No!. You can make great money at the right bar with the right attitude and something intelligent/witty/helpful to say!. If people like you, and you connect with them at some level, they'll tip well!. Super gorgeous does not necessarily equal likability!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
In a simple word, no!. Bartending is like hosting a party every night!. Gorgeous bartenders may attract some that are hoping to take you home, but having a really nice smile, know how to make a good drink and have a good memory for what people drink are most important!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well i'm pretty gorgeous and i make great money, but i think mostly if you have a good personality and know how to talk to people, and have a good knowledge of your products you can do great no matter how good or bad you look!. just don't stink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
