Well it's Summer time, what better party then a beach party. You can decorate the home with beach balls, articificial tropical trees, beach chairs, etc. What better way to start the summer then to have girls getting down around in bikinis. Won't cost much and the fun factor is enormous. good luck

Personally, 80's tv shows would be awesome - Charlie's Angels, Knight Rider, Star Trek, Dallas, Maverick, Macguyver....I could go on and on!
ohh. I kinda agree with the person who said beach theme since it is summer, but its kinda played out since almost everybody does it EVERY summer... What about a colored theme party(like black n white, or blue and black or red and white).. stuff like that is easy to pull off and with the right stuff you could pull off a pretty stylish and amazin party... not much work involved either ...
we did a beach party. we put 27,000 pounds of sand in the basement and decorated with inflatable palm trees. it was probably the best party i've been to in my life. although it is a lot of work getting the sand out!
well there is famous people like tell you friends to try to dress up as a famous person
A rubix cube party where every one comes in clothes only the colours of the rubix cube.

you have to swap clothes with others (make sure everyone does the opshop thing or wears clothes they don't mind sharing)
you have to come in something of every colour.
red legs, blue hat, yellow tie, green shoes, .white socks, orange shirt etc.
alcohol is a good clothes shedder. the first person in all one color wins. then everyone in one colour first of every colour, the first almost naked person etc.
it's really funny if you all end up in a club. hahaha

How about a TV themed party like America's Got Talent and have your guests do something they're really good at and win prizes or murder mystery party based on Law and Order or CSI and have your guests dress up as their favorite character. Have the host and a couple of the host's friends display a crime scene and lay out clues for the guests to solve in order to win prizes. Another idea would be celebrate any holiday you want to like Christmas in July or a Halloween party in June.

Anything is a good theme - starting from movies to beach to colours. Look at your own personal interests and those of the people you are inviting.
