Does anyone have any tips for my informative speech on throwing a dinner party?
This speech is 7 minutes long. I have to have a Thesis statement, Three main points with two subpoints each, and a conclusion. It is an Informative speech.
Answers:
I would determine a theme for the party. Luau, Halloween, country western, rock and roll etc. you decide.
Thesis: How to give a Luau (or other) dinner party.
Main points:
1. Decorations
a. flowers
b. other (Skeleton for Halloween, palm tree for Luau)
2. Food
a. Appetizers
b. Main course
c. Dessert
3. Entertainment
a. ice breakers-something to get the party started
b. games
Conclusion: Tell how fabulous the party will be and mention the theme again.
Buy those wine charm things. Give each guest one to put on their drink glass so they don't get mixed up. Also, make something simple... that way you wont mess up the food and you can concentrate on your guests! :)
