Picnic food??!

Question:

Picnic food??

I'm having a picnic with six friends tomorrow. I need food that I can make NOW (as in chilled and ready-to-serve foods) and in the morning. Also, my family's vegan so we don't really have any type of meat (Unless you consider eggs meat...) So yeah...
Please don't include:
Cookies
Chips
Water/other drinks
Potato Salad
Pinwheels
Fruit
(I've already got those covered)
I know it seems like alot already, but these are some HUNGRY li'l buggers.
Thanks.

Lmao we really aren't supposed to ear eggs, however, the white of the egg is not the chicken, so yeah. Great ideas, though!

(Correction: Eat*** for that first detail O.o)
Also, if anyone has ideas for making food look silly (For the younger kids) that'd be awesome.

Well, you'd have to search through this list, but at Martha Stewart's website I've found a list of quick recipies. I hope it helps!

bagels with cream cheese

My mom makes these awesome sands that don't have meat (if you don't count eggs).

12 boild eggs, chopped
1/2 cup of relish
Mayo/Miricle Whip (your choise) to taste
1 can of manderin oranges
1 cup of cashews
several crewsants (sp?) or bread of your choise

Mix the eggs, relish, and cashews in a large enough bowl. Add Mayo to the thickness that you like. Finally, add the oranges and spread on to your bread.

I don't think you can be Vegan and eat eggs, but what do I know. Anyway, if you eat eggs, make deviled eggs. Those always go over very well.

As to a dessert make Scotcharoos

1 Cup of white sugar
1 Cup of light corn syrup
1 1/2 Cups of smooth peanut butter
6 Cups of Rice Krispies
1/2 bag of chocolate chips
1/2 bag of butterscotch chips

On your stove top bring the first 3 ingredients to a gentle boil, mixing well. After it begins to boil, remove from heat and add the Rice Krispies. Put into a 9x13 pan, smooth out the top and let cool. When it cools, melt the chips in a pan on the stove over low heat, mix well, when that is melted pour over the bars and let harden. YUMMO

Fresh cut veggies with dip.

Baba Ganous and pita

Italian Pasta Salad

2 pounds cooked and cooled pasta
1 jar drained artichoke hearts
1 can green olives
1 jar drained giardiena salad (in the pickle aisle and spelled correctly on the jar)
4 shredded carrots
4 chopped celeries
one bottle Newmans Own Italian Dressing
1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Mix all of the above together.

how bout a grilled vegetable pasta salad that you could serve cold? just grill some vegetables (eggplants, zucchini, onions, bell peppers etc) drizzled with olive oil and garlic then mix with some cooked penne pasta and drizzle with more olive oil and parmesan cheese. season with salt and pepper. refrigerate overnight and serve cold the next day. enjoy!

why not make some vegan shish kabobs?
use your imagination.
also, for the kids, bring some hard fruit, like apples or pears, toothpicks and some soft candy so they can make mr potato head like fruits. it will keep them busy for a while.

hummus with pita chips...yum!

How about some dips for your chips ..

Salsa
Fruit salsa (mango)
Guacamole
Spinich Dip
7 layer
onion

you can always do a quiche

Good Luck and Have fun!

First let me say that an egg is NEVER a chicken unless it is a fertilized egg. It's just another source of God-given protein. As for picnic foods, fried chicken is always a hit, sandwiches, and of course watermelon. If there's a campfire to be had, how about s'mores?

pickle bagle salad jello
